Commissioner Chenette provides annual college scholarships to students living within the commission district from his nonprofit scholarship organization.
The Chenette Leadership Scholarship is awarded to graduating seniors from Thornton Academy, Old Orchard Beach High School, and Bonny Eagle High School who have demonstrated a passion for helping others, strong leadership skills, and have worked to improve the community in addition to the school’s campus. $500 will be awarded to the student(s) who best represents the goal of the scholarship; to encourage and assist the next generation of community leaders in achieving their educational objectives. High school guidance offices are involved in the selection process. |
