York County Breaks ground on Substance Use Recovery Center and First Responders Training Center3/16/2025 IT’S HAPPENING! Honored to join my fellow county commissioners in breaking ground on our new county-owned Substance Use Recovery Center and First Responders Training Center in Alfred. Both will help save lives.
Our 58-bed recovery center will offer a full continuum of care, from detoxification to residential programs, an intensive outpatient program and counseling, medication-assisted treatment, and case management. The training center will be where our law enforcement, firefighters, emergency medical personnel, emergency managers, dispatchers and others can receive ongoing instruction to keep their skills in tip-top shape and learn best practices to help protect our communities. These projects are funded primarily through American Recovery Plan Act funds, Congressionally Designated Spending, and grants. The construction timeline for completion is within the next 18 -24 months. These projects will represent a generational investment for our 29 communities throughout York County and demonstrate county leadership across our state.
